
Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has commended Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro (Enabo), Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, for organising the largest empowerment programme in the history of Kebbi State.
The initiative, conducted through the Alhaji Faruk Enabo Foundation, benefited over 10,000 residents of Marafa Ward in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area. Distribution included 50 cars, 100 motorcycles, 50 water pumps, 5,000 bags of assorted grains, sports jerseys, and cash assistance totaling ₦250 million.
Governor Idris praised Enabo for supporting APC supporters and empowering citizens, urging politicians and officeholders to emulate his example. “I will not hesitate to support any individual like Enabo who carries his people along,” he stated. The Governor further emphasized that democracy is about empowering the people, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to initiatives for women, youths, and farmers, including free fertilizer and agricultural inputs.
The Governor also called on Kebbi residents to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC, highlighting Tinubu’s delivery of multiple projects to the state and advocating for his second term.
Former Governor of Kebbi State and current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, lauded Enabo’s programme, encouraging other stakeholders to implement similar initiatives in their constituencies.
Governor Idris’ wives, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris and Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, also commended Enabo’s contributions to women, donating cash, clothing, and ₦10 million to women’s groups in Marafa Ward. Other dignitaries, including State APC Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, Ubandoman Gwandu Alhaji Saddiq Saad, Alhaji Nasiru Langu, and Alhaji Sanusi Jinsy, praised the empowerment efforts and urged ongoing government support.
In his remarks, Enabo stated that the programme was inspired by Senator Bagudu and Governor Idris, pledging to continue people-centered initiatives. He highlighted that true politics is about impacting lives positively and winning hearts, not engaging in acrimony.
