Prof. Ornguga Hosts Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy on Familiarisation Visit

The Benue State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Professor Timothy Yangien Ornguga, on Monday, 8th September 2025, received the Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy, Hon. Denis Ter Iyaghigba, at the ministry’s headquarters in Makurdi.

The visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between the newly created Marine and Blue Economy ministry and other key state institutions. Hon. Iyaghigba was accompanied by a delegation that included Dr. Erdoo Mongol, Managing Director of Benue Geo-Mining Company, and Hon. Paul Bebe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marine and Waterways.

Prof. Ornguga welcomed the team warmly and assured them of the ministry’s readiness to provide legal backing and guidance to ensure the new ministry establishes a strong foundation. He commended Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia for his vision in setting up the ministry, describing it as a forward-looking step for the state’s economic growth.
