Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State for Education, Federal Republic of Nigeria, participated in the 2025 International Literacy Day Ministerial Press Briefing, themed “Promoting Literacy in a Digital Era.” The event provided an opportunity to reaffirm the government’s commitment to expanding education and mass literacy across Nigeria.
Speaking at the briefing, Minister Ahmad outlined measures under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, including the mapping of out-of-school children and non-literate adults, as well as leveraging mobile, radio, and television platforms to ensure every Nigerian has access to learning opportunities.
She emphasized that literacy is the foundation for national development and called on partners, civil society, traditional leaders, and the private sector to collaborate in building a Nigeria where no citizen is left behind in the digital era.
