Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited Strengthens Partnership with NALDA to Boost National Food Security

The Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited (NAFARL) has taken a major step toward reinforcing national food security through a strategic collaboration with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). The Executive Director of NAFARL, Major General Olaniyi Dare, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NALDA, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, at the Authority’s Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.

During the visit, Major General Dare emphasized that the engagement was a demonstration of NAFARL’s commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration with key stakeholders in the agricultural sector to drive food sovereignty across Nigeria. He highlighted that the partnership would focus on deepening institutional ties, expanding cooperation in agribusiness, and exploring innovative approaches to agricultural development. Major General Dare further commended NALDA’s consistent support, particularly in areas of patronage and equipment provision, which he described as critical to the success of NAFARL’s operations. He assured that NAFARL remains open to evaluation and is committed to consolidating efforts with NALDA to expand agricultural initiatives in line with its national mandate.

Responding to the visit, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed NALDA’s dedication to sustaining the collaboration. He noted that strategic partnerships are essential for achieving food sovereignty, and that the discipline and organisational culture of the military would serve as vital assets in driving excellence in agricultural production. The engagement also featured an exchange of farm produce and a commemorative group photograph, symbolising the strengthened alliance between NAFARL and NALDA in pursuit of Nigeria’s food security objectives.

The meeting underscores the continued commitment of both organisations to work together toward ensuring sustainable agricultural growth, enhancing food production, and supporting national economic development.
