
Authorities in Bucharest, Romania, have taken into custody a 30-year-old Nigerian man over allegations of rape and attempted murder involving a sex worker. The suspect was placed in preventive custody for 30 days on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Reports indicate that the accused allegedly attacked the victim after she requested that he leave, having realized he could not pay in advance for her services. The assault reportedly included choking and sexual assault.
The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sector 6 Court in Bucharest has formally charged the suspect with rape, destruction, and home invasion. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
