In celebration of this year’s World Clean Up Day, youths from Badagry West LCDA, led by Amb. Ajande Pascal in collaboration with Green Janitors, organized a community clean-up exercise at Gbaji community on 20th September 2025.
The initiative, aimed at beautifying the community and promoting sustainable environmental practices, was described as both energetic and inspiring. Participants included Mr. Ashade Abdulsalam, founder of Green Janitors, environmental ambassadors Jacob Francis and Oketeru Pedepo, as well as enthusiastic local youths who actively joined the exercise.
Speaking at the event, Amb. Pascal expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Mr. Rauf Ibrahim Yemaren, for his continuous support on climate change initiatives. He also commended the Green Janitors Sustainable Initiative for extending the project to Badagry and praised the massive turnout of participants. “Such collective action is vital in building a cleaner, healthier, and greater Badagry West,” he said.
Amb. Pascal highlighted the strategic significance of Badagry West as the gateway to Lagos and Nigeria, noting that maintaining a clean and welcoming environment is essential for shaping positive impressions among international visitors and diplomats. He emphasized that these efforts are key to enhancing the image of both Lagos State and the nation.
