The Irigwe community in Kamaru Ward, Chawai Chiefdom of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for promptly covering the hospital expenses of victims from the recent Angwan Rimi bandit attack. In a joint letter released on September 22, 2025, signed by community leader Barnabas Musa and parents’ representative Comrade Raphael Joshua, residents said the governor’s intervention saved the lives of injured children whose treatment at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital had been stalled due to unpaid medical bills.

The community praised Governor Sani’s “swift and compassionate response,” noting that confirmation of the full settlement came through the Chairman of Kauru Local Government, Hon. Bashir Tanko Dawaki. The letter also commended Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma Ahmad, and Chairman Dawaki for executing the governor’s directive with dedication and empathy.

The intervention followed public reports that the hospital had suspended care for the victims because of mounting bills. With the payments now cleared, critical medical attention has resumed, reinforcing residents’ confidence in what they described as the governor’s “people-centered leadership.”

The Angwan Rimi attack on September 15 claimed two lives and left several children critically injured. The victims were rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, where treatment had been interrupted until the governor’s support ensured care continued. The community concluded their letter with prayers for Governor Sani’s continued success in fostering a safer and more inclusive Kaduna State.
