Concerns are mounting in Koro Land, Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, following reports of escalating tension within the community. Residents and local leaders are calling for urgent intervention from government authorities to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
Hon. Darius Kurah Aribi, a prominent community member, appealed to both the Kaduna State Government and the Kagarko Local Government Authority to act swiftly. He described the unrest as particularly troubling given the traditionally peaceful nature of the Koro people, who are rarely associated with protests or civil disturbances.
“The Koro people are not known for protests, which makes this development deeply concerning. This is not just a moment of concern, it is a call for action,” Aribi stated.
He urged authorities to investigate the underlying causes of the unrest, establish channels for dialogue, and mediate between all parties involved to restore calm. Aribi emphasized that a proactive approach is essential to maintaining peace and preventing further escalation, noting that the people of Koro deserve to be heard and supported.
The situation in Kagarko has drawn attention from civil society organizations and local stakeholders, who warn that any delay in intervention could exacerbate tensions and potentially lead to wider conflicts in the region.
