Kasuwan Magani, October 14, 2025 — The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Kasuwan Magani DCC, has announced with profound sorrow the passing of Rev. Anthony Lamba, who died while in captivity after being kidnapped alongside his wife on July 24, 2025.

According to a statement issued by Rev. Alari Alari, while Rev. Lamba’s wife was later released following the payment of a ₦5 million ransom, the abductors continued to hold the cleric, demanding a motorcycle as an additional condition for his release. Tragically, Rev. Lamba fell seriously ill during captivity and passed away before the arrangement could be completed.
The Church has scheduled a memorial service in his honor to hold in his hometown, Kallah, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The statement called on Christians and the public to continue praying for the Church and the bereaved family. “Let us continue to pray for the Church of God and the family he left behind,” Rev. Alari urged.
