The Kebbi State Government has officially denied media reports claiming that the state had engaged a Chinese security firm, G-Safety, to tackle banditry and related crimes.

In a statement issued on October 16, 2025, Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, emphasized that the reports circulating were false and misleading, clarifying that no agreement or contract has been signed with any foreign security company.

The statement reiterated that the state government remains fully committed to strengthening security through collaboration with existing Nigerian security agencies, including the Armed Forces, Police, and other law enforcement bodies, to ensure lasting peace and the protection of lives and property.

The government further urged the public to rely solely on verified information from official channels to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Governor Idris’ administration continues to emphasize peaceful coexistence and the safety of residents while actively coordinating with national security forces to address insecurity challenges in Kebbi State.

This clarification comes amid heightened concerns over security in Northwestern Nigeria, underscoring the government’s dedication to public safety without reliance on foreign security firms.
