The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to immediately complete the ongoing upload of applicant information for recruitment into the nation’s paramilitary agencies.

This directive follows growing complaints from applicants who remain uncertain about their recruitment status due to delays in the data upload process.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Minister expressed concern over the backlog, emphasizing that transparency and timely communication are essential in restoring public trust in government recruitment exercises.

“Following recent complaints from applicants into the paramilitary agencies who are still unable to determine their fate due to the ongoing upload of information, I have directed the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board to ensure that all uploads are completed immediately,” Tunji-Ojo stated.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to a fair, credible, and merit-based selection process across all paramilitary institutions — including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Sources within the Ministry indicated that the directive is part of ongoing reforms aimed at digitizing recruitment processes and eliminating manual bottlenecks that have historically slowed down verification and shortlisting.

The Interior Minister assured applicants that once the uploads are finalized, updates on the next phase of the recruitment process would be made available to the public.
