The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has appointed Assistant Commander Friday S. Ebelo as the new Acting Zonal Director of its Kano Zonal Directorate. Ebelo succeeds Deputy Commander Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad, who had been serving in the role since July 2025. The handover ceremony was held at the EFCC Kano office.
In his inaugural address, Ebelo urged staff to uphold professionalism and integrity while discharging their duties, emphasizing diligence and adherence to EFCC’s core values in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the region.
Outgoing Acting Zonal Director Sa’ad expressed gratitude to staff for their cooperation during his tenure and encouraged them to extend the same support to Ebelo to ensure continued success for the Directorate.
Ebelo, a veteran EFCC officer with over two decades of service, previously served as Acting Director in the Executive Chairman’s Office and Coordinator of Special Duties from April 2024, overseeing investigations, prosecutions, task force coordination, and analysis of corruption trends. He has also held key positions as Commander of the Makurdi Zonal Command (September 2021 – April 2024) and Zonal Head in Ibadan (2019–2020) and Gombe (2018–2019).
