The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has strongly condemned a fabricated news story circulating online that falsely attributed a political statement to its General Superintendent, Pastor William F. Kumuyi.

The viral report, published by an unverified online platform known as “Ibomfocus,” bore the headline: “America is Trying to Steal our Natural Resources; There is No Christian Genocide in Nigeria, says Pastor Kumuyi.”

In a statement released by the church’s headquarters, @dclmhq, DCLM described the publication as “malicious, baseless, and entirely false,” stressing that Pastor Kumuyi never made such comments or addressed any press conference in Lagos as alleged.

According to the Ministry, the respected preacher has been out of the country for a significant period, holding gospel programmes across the Oceania region and the Far East, and has not granted any media interviews on political or national matters.

“Pastor Kumuyi is known for focusing solely on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He does not dabble into politics, as the false story suggested,” the statement read.

The Ministry also cautioned those spreading misinformation or attempting to drag its leader into political controversies to desist, warning that future occurrences may attract legal or disciplinary action.

“The story is a total fabrication and a figment of the imagination of its authors. We urge the public to disregard such falsehood and always verify information from credible sources,” DCLM added.
