The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism, integrity, and accountability within the agency.
In a public statement released by the Service, the DSS revealed that the action followed a thorough review of personnel conduct over time, resulting in the dismissal of those found wanting. The Service further warned Nigerians to be vigilant and avoid dealing with individuals fraudulently posing as DSS operatives.
The statement specifically referenced previous disclaimers on Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, both of whom had been dismissed but were reportedly still impersonating serving DSS personnel to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service,” the statement cautioned.
To ensure transparency, the DSS noted that the full list of the affected personnel has been published on its official website at https://dss.gov.ng/media/more/4.
The Service also encouraged citizens to use its verified communication channels for all legitimate requests, enquiries, or complaints, which include the official phone line 09088373515 and the email address dsspr@dss.gov.ng.
This development underscores the Service’s commitment to maintaining discipline, restoring public trust, and upholding ethical standards within Nigeria’s foremost domestic intelligence agency.
