The Lagos State Police Command has clarified that it was not involved in the arrest of Samuel Daniels, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the arrest was executed by police officers from Abuja, acting on an official assignment and carrying a valid arrest warrant. Samuel Daniels was briefly held at the Ogombo Police Division in Lagos due to the late hour, before being transferred to the Abuja team for further procedural steps.

“The individual in question was not arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command. The officers who effected the arrest came from Abuja with a duly signed arrest warrant. The suspect was temporarily detained at Ogombo Division due to the late hour, pending further procedural action,” SP Adebisi said.

The clarification comes amid social media speculation linking the Lagos Police to the arrest, which surfaced during an ongoing dispute between the Daniels family and Senator Ned Nwoko. Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Lawrence Daniels, had previously accused Nwoko of harassment, warning that he should be held accountable if harm befell the family.

As of now, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has not released details regarding the arrest or allegations against Samuel Daniels. SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police spokesperson, was unavailable for comment.

The Lagos Police emphasized that their role was limited to a temporary hold before the suspect was transferred to the Abuja police team, who handled the official arrest process.
