Awka, Anambra State – Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inspected the ongoing renovation of the Awka City Stadium, signaling a major push to transform the facility into a modern sporting hub.
The upgrade project includes extensive landscaping and the installation of new public facilities aimed at enhancing the stadium’s overall appeal and functionality. Officials overseeing the project expressed optimism that these improvements will make the stadium suitable for hosting top-tier football matches.
Governor Soludo hinted at the possibility of seeing the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, grace the stadium in future fixtures, a development that would boost local tourism and community engagement in sports.
The inspection reflects the state government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting sports development across Anambra State.
