Armed bandits reportedly attacked Kawari community in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area on Friday night, killing seven residents and injuring three others.
According to local accounts, the attackers stormed the community during the night, opened fire on residents, and later fled with a large number of livestock.
Sources within the area said three other persons sustained injuries during the assault and were receiving treatment. The identities of the victims had not been officially released at the time of reporting.
Kawari community is among several areas in Zamfara State that have faced repeated attacks linked to armed groups involved in killings, kidnappings, cattle rustling, and destruction of property.
No official statement had been issued immediately by security authorities regarding the latest incident.
Residents have continued to call for stronger security presence and urgent intervention as attacks persist across parts of the state.
The latest assault adds to ongoing security concerns in northwestern Nigeria, where many rural communities remain vulnerable to violent raids.
