A public controversy has emerged involving Mike Etaba, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, after reports surfaced alleging that a man confronted and physically attacked the lawmaker over claims of an alleged relationship with his wife.
According to accounts circulating online and in local discussions, the incident reportedly began after the husband allegedly became suspicious of interactions between his wife and the federal legislator, who represents Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency and currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Environment.
The woman at the centre of the controversy reportedly denied allegations of an affair when initially confronted by her husband, insisting that she and the lawmaker had only gone for a massage session. However, reports claim tensions escalated after the husband allegedly encountered both individuals again at a hotel, leading to another confrontation.
Accounts circulating on social media further alleged that the situation became heated after the woman reportedly challenged her husband during the second encounter, prompting a physical altercation involving the lawmaker. Videos and claims linked to the alleged incident have since spread widely online, generating mixed reactions among Nigerians.
