On the night of 11 June 2026, armed men attacked Dandume town in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State, north-west Nigeria, and abducted a resident businessman identified as Alhaji Bara’u Kwaroo.
The attackers were reported to have entered the town and fired gunshots, causing panic among residents, who fled into surrounding areas for safety. The assailants then moved to the residence of the victim and took him away to an unknown location.
Residents confirmed that the attack occurred at night and was carried out by a group of armed men who left the area shortly after the abduction.
No official statement had been issued by security authorities at the time of reporting, and there was no confirmation of arrests or rescue operations.
The whereabouts of Alhaji Bara’u Kwaroo remain unknown following the incident.
Dandume Local Government Area has experienced repeated attacks in recent years, with armed groups targeting rural communities in parts of Katsina State.
The latest incident adds to a series of security challenges reported in the area, where residents have continued to call for stronger protection and faster response to armed attacks.
