President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), while also appointing Patrick Obahiagbon and reappointing Chukwuma Umeoji as executive directors of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

The appointments were announced by the Presidency on Friday, June 26, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to fill strategic positions in federal agencies and strengthen institutional leadership across key sectors including border development and power infrastructure.

[Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA)](https://bcda.gov.ng/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) is a federal agency responsible for improving infrastructure and socio-economic development in Nigeria’s border communities, many of which face challenges related to poor access to roads, healthcare, education and security.

Namdas replaces Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down from the role to pursue an elective political position in his home state. His resignation created a vacancy at the agency at a time when border security and community development remain major national priorities.

Abdulrazak Sa'ad Namdas is a former member of the House of Representatives, where he represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency in Adamawa State. He served as spokesperson for the 8th House of Representatives, becoming one of the most visible lawmakers during that legislative session.

Before his legislative career, Namdas built a reputation in journalism and public communication. He worked as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa governor Boni Haruna and is widely regarded as an experienced media and public relations professional. He also contested in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.

President Tinubu also appointed Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial of [Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC)](https://ndphc.net/?utm_source=chatgpt.com). Obahiagbon is a former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, and is well known in Nigerian political circles for his distinctive oratory and legal background.

Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in Edo State. His appointment places a seasoned political figure in a strategic role focused on planning and commercial operations within Nigeria’s power sector.

In addition, President Tinubu reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services of NDPHC. Umeoji previously served in the 9th National Assembly representing Aguata Federal Constituency in Anambra State.

Umeoji had earlier resigned from the same office to pursue political ambitions in his home state but has now returned to continue in the role. His reappointment signals continuity in NDPHC’s corporate administration and internal operations.

The Presidency said all appointments take immediate effect, underscoring the administration’s continued restructuring of leadership in key federal institutions as it pursues reforms in governance, infrastructure and public service delivery.
