A statement by the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed the operational gains on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The military said troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, five magazines, 43 rounds of ammunition and two motorcycles, while rescuing the abducted district head of Farin Hawa, Mubarak Sharin, during a pursuit operation in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State. Two suspected terrorists were also reportedly killed in separate engagements.
