The quiet community of Dominion City near the Pantoase suburb in the New Juaben South Municipality of Ghana's Eastern Region has been thrown into shock and mourning following the gruesome discovery of the lifeless body of a 52-year-old tailor, Felix Amanor, on the morning of Sunday, 5 July 2026. According to multiple reports and a statement from family members, the deceased, a resident of Blue Street near Adweso, was found lying naked on a roadside in the Trom Dominion City area after allegedly being attacked and killed by unknown assailants. The discovery has sparked fear among residents and prompted a formal investigation by the Adweso District Police Command.

Preliminary accounts from family members indicate that Mr Amanor had left his home on Saturday evening, 4 July 2026, to watch the Canada versus Morocco football match. He reportedly returned home briefly after the match, changed his clothes, and ventured out again but never returned. It was not until the following morning that residents of Dominion City stumbled upon his body, triggering an alarm that drew family, friends, and neighbours to the scene. His father, Godfred Amanor, confirmed that the incident was reported to the police, who subsequently visited the scene, documented evidence, and conveyed the body to the morgue at St. Joseph's Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

The exact circumstances surrounding Mr Amanor's death remain unclear, and authorities have not yet established a motive or identified any suspects. Sources close to the investigation, however, have revealed that visible signs of bruises were noticed at the back of his neck, suggesting a violent encounter. Police reportedly recovered the deceased's clothes and the keys to his tailoring shop a short distance from where the body was found. The incident has left the Adweso community in deep mourning, with relatives, friends, and customers gathering at the deceased's residence to sympathise with the bereaved family. Felix Amanor has been widely described by residents as a peaceful and hardworking member of the community. He leaves behind a wife, who is reportedly ill with a stroke, and two young children, aged six and two.

The tragic event has also sparked widespread concern among residents of the rapidly developing community, with many calling for improved security measures to prevent similar incidents. Residents expressed frustration over what they described as a delayed police response, claiming that although the incident was reported shortly after the body was found, officers did not arrive promptly to retrieve the body and begin investigations. The Assembly Member for the Adweso Town Electoral Area, Samuel Atta Amo, has described the incident as disturbing and called for urgent measures to strengthen security, including the installation of streetlights and increased police patrols. As of the time of filing this report, no arrests have been made, and police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in identifying and apprehending those responsible for the death of Felix Amanor.
