The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recorded another significant victory in its ongoing war against cybercrime, securing the conviction of two individuals for internet-related offences. The convicts, Joshua Ejim and Danjuma Shedrack, were found guilty by Justice A.A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court on Thursday, 9 July 2026, following their arraignment on separate one-count charges bordering on cybercrime and cheating by impersonation.

According to the EFCC, both convicts were arrested during an intelligence-led operation that targeted their hideouts in the Kaduna metropolis. The commission said the duo engaged in fraudulent internet activities, including assuming false identities to defraud unsuspecting victims. The court found them guilty after they pleaded guilty to the charges and were subsequently convicted and sentenced.

The conviction of Ejim and Shedrack is part of a broader crackdown by the EFCC on internet fraud, which has become a significant concern in Nigeria. The Kaduna Zonal Directorate has intensified its efforts to combat cybercrime, resulting in the conviction of several individuals in recent months. Justice A.A. Bello, who presided over the case, delivered the verdict, underscoring the judiciary's commitment to upholding the rule of law and deterring financial crimes.

The EFCC has reaffirmed its dedication to prosecuting cybercrime offenders and has urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent activities. The commission also called on citizens to report any suspicious activities to its offices nationwide. The convictions serve as a warning to others involved in similar crimes that the long arm of the law will catch up with them.
