The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has warned Nigerians, particularly job seekers, against fraudulent recruitment advertisements and forged appointment letters being circulated by individuals claiming to represent the organisation.
The warning was contained in a public notice issued by the Fund and circulated to its regional and branch managers through a memorandum dated October 5, 2026, signed by Samaila Abdu, Executive Director, Administration.
NSITF said it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise and described employment advertisements circulating on social media, particularly Facebook, as fraudulent.
According to the Fund, individuals and groups have been falsely presenting themselves as representatives of NSITF and using purported recruitment opportunities to deceive members of the public.
The organisation therefore urged Nigerians to disregard such advertisements and warned job seekers against making payments to anyone in connection with purported employment opportunities.
NSITF stressed that it does not charge applicants any fee for employment and does not conduct recruitment through unofficial social media platforms or other unauthorised channels.
The Fund said any genuine recruitment exercise would be announced through its official communication channels.
NSITF has also published a recruitment warning on its official careers page, stating that vacancies are not currently open and cautioning members of the public against job offers, interview invitations or payment requests claiming to originate from the organisation.
The Fund urged anyone who comes across suspicious recruitment advertisements or requests to avoid responding and report them to the appropriate NSITF authorities.
“Stay alert, stay safe,” the organisation advised.
As part of its response, NSITF management directed all regional and branch managers to display the public notice prominently at their offices.
The directive covers reception areas, entrances and exits, notice boards, SERVICOM desks and other locations accessible to members of the public.
The measure is intended to ensure that job seekers and other visitors are aware that the organisation has no ongoing recruitment exercise and are less likely to fall victim to fraudulent offers.
The latest warning comes amid continuing concerns over online recruitment scams in Nigeria, where fraudsters often exploit the desperation of job seekers by advertising non-existent employment opportunities.
NSITF advised Nigerians to verify recruitment claims through its official channels before providing information or taking any action.
The organisation's official website currently states that it is not hiring and that legitimate vacancies will be published on its careers page and verified communication channels.
