Hon. Rosemary Adukwu, the serving councillor representing Ogugu Ward III in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, has reportedly been killed after spending several days in captivity.

Details surrounding her reported death, including the circumstances of her abduction, the location where she was held and the identities of those responsible, remain unclear.

The report has raised fresh concerns about insecurity in Kogi State, particularly the threat posed by kidnappings and the safety of public officials and residents in affected communities.

Olamaboro and other parts of Kogi East have previously experienced kidnapping incidents. In December 2025, gunmen abducted nine people in the area, prompting residents to call for stronger security measures.

However, as of the time of reporting, Stone Reporters News could not independently confirm Adukwu’s reported death through an official statement from the Kogi State Police Command or the state government.

Further details are awaited as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the report.
