A Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) officer has reportedly been killed after being struck by a truck along Hospital Road in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The incident occurred opposite Mega Primary School, according to a report published by Silverbird Television on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Eyewitness accounts cited in the report indicated that the officer was carrying out routine traffic enforcement duties when the truck struck him. The driver reportedly fled the scene after the collision.
