Former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso used the recent New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja to commend party members for their dedication and highlight the party’s future plans ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kwankwaso congratulated NNPP supporters on the party’s recent electoral successes and expressed confidence that Nigerians have already made their choices for the 2027 polls. “We are happy with ourselves because we are with the people, and the people know we are with them,” he said, emphasizing the party’s connection to ordinary citizens.
The former governor also addressed the pressing issue of poverty, highlighting the widespread hardships across communities that prevent many from farming, visiting markets, or even returning home safely. He stressed that NNPP remains committed to providing practical solutions to these challenges at the national level.
Amid speculation about political realignments ahead of 2027, Kwankwaso cautioned party members against distractions from defections and political rumors. “We are comfortable in the NNPP and believe we have something to offer at the highest leadership level of this country,” he stated, affirming that any negotiations with other political actors will be conducted collectively.
The meeting underscored the NNPP’s focus on consolidating its base, addressing socio-economic issues, and positioning itself as a serious contender in the upcoming general elections.
