The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, will respond in due course to remarks made last Friday by former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, according to the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

In a statement released on Monday, Olayinka said that Wike would not leave Tambuwal’s recent criticisms of him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu unaddressed. Tambuwal, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, stated that his political decisions are guided by principles of leadership rather than personal relationships, and indicated he would support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over Wike if required.

Olayinka added that apart from comments directed at the Minister, Tambuwal had also made remarks about President Tinubu, which will be addressed. “The Minister will respond accordingly and clarify to Nigerians the meaning of integrity and what constitutes betrayal,” he said, urging patience until an official response is made.
