NCoS Officer Honoured for Championing Correctional Reforms in Nigeria

Hope Behind Bars Africa, a leading non-governmental organization advocating for correctional reform and inmate welfare, has presented a Justice Advocate Award to Assistant Controller General of Corrections Olatubosun Dele Ajibogun FCSS, fsi, Head of Planning, Research, and Statistics (PRS) Unit of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

The award, presented by Executive Director Oluwafunke Adeoye at the NCoS National Headquarters in Abuja, recognizes ACG Ajibogun’s outstanding dedication to advancing policies and strategies that improve rehabilitation, welfare, and reintegration of inmates across Nigeria.

Adeoye lauded ACG Ajibogun’s commitment to evidence-based reforms, highlighting his efforts to create meaningful pathways for inmates to successfully reintegrate into society after incarceration. She noted that his initiatives have strengthened the Service’s capacity to provide humane and effective correctional management.

In his remarks, ACG Ajibogun expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a call to even greater service. He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering innovative reforms aimed at improving correctional administration and ensuring that persons in custody are equipped for productive life beyond confinement.

The award presentation underscores the growing collaboration between non-governmental organizations and government agencies to enhance correctional systems, promote humane treatment of inmates, and drive sustainable reforms within Nigeria’s penal institutions.
