The Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has officially launched the Housing Fraud Detection and Reporting System Web Portal, a significant step toward safeguarding Nigerians from real estate scams.
Addressing the public, Minister Dangiwa highlighted the persistent challenges in the housing sector, noting that many Nigerians have lost their hard-earned savings to fraudulent real estate schemes. “This is unacceptable,” he said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and citizen protection.
The new platform, developed in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), offers a secure and user-friendly way for citizens to report fraudulent activities, track ongoing cases, and assist authorities in taking decisive action against offenders. Nigerians can now access the portal at reports.fmhud.gov.ng.
Minister Dangiwa stressed that the initiative is part of a broader effort to restore confidence in the housing market and ensure that every Nigerian can invest in property without fear of fraud. “Together, we will make the housing sector safer, stronger, and more transparent for all,” he added.
