Governor Aminu Waziri Aliyu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity and ensuring quality public infrastructure across Sokoto State. The disclosure came during the 9th regular Executive Council meeting held at the Main Council Chamber, Government House, Sokoto, on 27th August 2025.
Governor Aliyu noted that his government has consistently supported security agencies with resources and strategic backing to curb banditry affecting several local government areas. He emphasized that new initiatives and strategies have been introduced to help eradicate banditry, which has negatively impacted socio-economic activities in parts of the state.
“We have equally injected new ideas and strategies that would, by Allah’s will, help us end banditry in the state,” the Governor said, calling on all well-meaning citizens to support the ongoing fight against insecurity and criminal activities.
On matters of public contracts, Governor Aliyu charged Commissioners to conduct regular inspections of projects within their Ministries. “By so doing, you will be able to assess the quality or otherwise of projects being executed by contractors,” he stated, warning that low-quality work and unnecessary delays will not be tolerated. The Governor stressed that the people of Sokoto State, who massively voted for the APC, deserve projects that reflect their mandate and aspirations.
Governor Aliyu also expressed gratitude to residents for their continuous support and prayers, urging them to sustain their active participation in the state’s development journey. He reaffirmed that his administration remains determined to deliver more dividends of democracy to all parts of Sokoto State.
