
The House Committee on Federal Character, chaired by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, continued its active oversight of key educational institutions to ensure adherence to Nigeria’s principles of equity, fairness, and inclusiveness in public service.
During the engagement, the Committee met with leadership teams from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, and the Federal College of Education, Jama’are. Discussions centered on the institutions’ compliance with Federal Character provisions, particularly in recruitment, staffing, and equitable allocation of opportunities.
Rt. Hon. Wase reiterated the Committee’s commitment to upholding the 1999 Constitution (as amended), stressing that equitable access and fair representation across all regions are essential for national unity, trust, and sustainable development.
The Committee assured Nigerians that it would continue its vigilant oversight to guarantee that no region or group is marginalized in federal institutions, reinforcing fairness in the distribution of resources and opportunities.
