In response to circulating misinformation and half-truths, the Federal Government has emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to fairness, justice, and equity in distributing federal projects, appointments, and opportunities across all six geopolitical zones.
Officials highlighted that major infrastructure initiatives—including highways, bridges, railways, and power projects—are being implemented nationwide with balanced consideration. Notably, the Northwest has emerged as the largest beneficiary, receiving over ₦5.97 trillion in project approvals, accounting for more than 40% of total federal allocations. Other regions are also benefiting significantly, with projects spanning the South South, North Central, South East, North East, and South West (excluding Lagos).
Key ongoing road and highway projects include the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, Trans-Sahara Highway, and major dualisation projects in both Northern and Southern states. The administration has also prioritized light rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, and Ogun states, as well as the rehabilitation of the Eastern rail corridor from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri. These efforts are expected to generate over 250,000 jobs nationwide.
In addition to roads and rail, the government has advanced energy and industrial projects, such as reviving the 255MW Kaduna Power Plant, accelerating the AKK Gas Project, and expanding oil and gas exploration in Bauchi and Gombe states. The Kano–Maradi rail line has progressed from 5% completion at inheritance to 67% under the current administration.
The government also stressed equity in federal appointments, highlighting that leadership positions are awarded based on competence and inclusivity, reflecting the administration’s commitment to national unity and regional representation. The creation of five new Regional Development Commissions and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development further underscores this dedication.
Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that President Tinubu’s leadership ensures no region is overlooked, with every part of Nigeria receiving fair consideration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
