The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for restoring democratic governance in Rivers State by lifting the six-month state of emergency previously imposed on the state.

In a statement released on Wednesday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Minister said President Tinubu’s proactive action once again demonstrated his total commitment to peace and the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, describing the move as pivotal in saving Rivers State.

The Minister further noted that the President’s intervention has restored confidence among the people of Rivers State in his leadership. He also commended residents for their continued belief and support, highlighting their role in enabling the administration’s efforts to return the country to a path of progress and development.

Urging all stakeholders in the state to work together harmoniously, the Minister cautioned troublemakers, particularly fifth columnists seeking to exploit crises, to stay away from Rivers State. He added, “From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress and development.”
