The Commissioner for Higher Education, Muhammad Shetima Gadam, has lauded Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya's leadership style, citing the positive impact of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park on the people of Gombe State, particularly students. Gadam made this remark during a capacity-building programme for students.
The Commissioner commended the Governor for his commitment to advancing education, highlighting initiatives such as clearing inherited backlogs, reopening the scholarship portal, and providing consistent financial support to tertiary institutions. These efforts have created a conducive learning environment for students.
The programme, themed "Students: The Hope for a Better Society," aimed to empower students with skills and knowledge. The Commissioner urged students to remain united, obey laws, and avoid social vices. He also assured the Ministry's readiness to support the Gombe State Students Association (GOSSA) in preparing for the next election.
Various stakeholders, including the National President of GOSSA and former GOSSA President, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his continued support of student-related initiatives. The event featured paper presentations, poetry and artistic performances, cultural dances, and other engaging activities.
