In a decisive push to improve police welfare and strengthen internal security systems, Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commissioned a range of newly completed infrastructure projects in Kano State, including expansive residential and operational facilities for the Nigeria Police Force.

Located at Bompai and Zaria Road, the newly unveiled infrastructure comprises:

Over 300 modern residential units

48-office administrative complex

Armoury and transport workshop

P.O.W.A shops and worship centres

Paved road networks and integrated infrastructure

These facilities were built to provide safe, dignified housing and efficient workspaces—aimed at inspiring professionalism, boosting morale, and reinforcing public trust in the Force.

Addressing personnel and stakeholders at the event, the IGP emphasized that these developments are not just about structures but about restoring dignity to those who serve.

> “This is a visible declaration that police officers deserve more. We are building more than barracks—we’re building respect, pride, and operational readiness,” IGP Egbetokun said.

He noted the projects are part of a nationwide police transformation agenda, rooted in reform, discipline, and better working conditions.

Presidential Support and Nationwide Blueprint

Dr. Egbetokun credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for creating an enabling environment under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to support law enforcement reforms across the country.

He also lauded private sector collaborators for delivering the project to standard and within schedule.

More Reforms Ahead

With similar housing and welfare projects underway in other states, the IGP reaffirmed his administration's mission to revitalize the Force’s infrastructure nationwide.

> “We are building a Police Force that’s professional, people-oriented, and prepared to deliver on its mandate—because our officers deserve no less,” he concluded.
