Police Nab Notorious Highway Robbery Suspects Along Numan–Demsa Route

In a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers who have long terrorized commuters along the Numan–Demsa highway and been on the Command’s most-wanted list.

 

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID), in collaboration with local security outfits, conducted a tactical operation on August 3, 2025, leading to the arrest of:

 

Hamadu Saidu (22 years)

 

Ali Hamman (25 years)

Both suspects hail from Sabewa Ngwallam, Numan LGA.

 

 

Confessions and Case Links

 

During preliminary interrogation, the duo confessed to involvement in multiple armed robbery incidents and the setting up of illegal roadblocks along the notorious highway corridor.

 

The suspects also admitted to their role in the July 1st, 2025 armed robbery of Maharazu Abdulra'uf, a driver to Alhaji Isah Abubakar, in which they stole cartons of mobile phones and accessories worth ₦2,803,000.

 

Further investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect:

 

Ibrahim Umar (42 years)

of Ngurore, Yola South LGA, identified as the receiver of the stolen items. So far, two phones and two chargers have been recovered from him.

 

 

All suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

 

CP Dankombo Commends Tactical Teams and Community Support

 

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), applauded the swift action of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Bureau, SID operatives, and local hunters, whose collaboration ensured the suspects’ arrest.

 

He urged the public to remain vigilant and continue providing the Police with timely and actionable information to support efforts in combating crime across the state.
