Tension gripped the Tozunkanmeh community in Ajara Agamathen, Badagry, when a quarrel between two neighbours turned violent, leaving one woman with part of her lip bitten off.
The shocking incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, and by Friday, September 12, 28-year-old Chidinma Simeon was brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on charges of assault.
Prosecutor ASP Edet Ekpo told the court that Simeon attacked her neighbour, Anuoluwapo Sule, during a heated argument, biting off part of her lip and leaving her permanently disfigured. The alleged offence, Ekpo explained, contravenes Section 245 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
Simeon, whose residential address was not disclosed, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted her bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a community leader.
The matter has been adjourned to October 10, 2025, for mention.
