From 9th to 12th September 2025, the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, @OluVerheijen, represented Nigeria at the prestigious Gastech 2025 conference in Milan, Italy. The adviser held strategic meetings with senior executives from global energy companies, including Eni, Gastech Energy Hub, and the Angelicoussis Group, to discuss opportunities for collaboration and investment.

Gastech 2025 convened leaders from both the private and public energy sectors, along with innovators and investors, to explore the future of natural gas, LNG, low-carbon fuels, climate technologies, and artificial intelligence. The conference provided a platform to strengthen partnerships aimed at advancing sustainable energy solutions and leveraging technological innovations in the sector.

Nigeria, home to Africa’s largest natural gas reserves, continues to pursue policies under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at unlocking its vast gas potential. These efforts focus on targeted reforms and fiscal incentives designed to expand gas production and utilization while aligning with environmental sustainability and climate action goals.
