The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, on Monday paid a working visit to the Julius Berger Nigeria AFP Furniture Showroom and PrimeTech facilities in Abuja.
The visit focused on identifying opportunities for high-quality training in furniture, woodwork, sustainable architectural design, and engineering solutions for ex-agitators and other beneficiaries of the programme.
Dr. Otuaro explained that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to equip PAP beneficiaries with globally competitive skills that will not only make them self-reliant but also position them as contributors to national development. He stressed that sustainable reintegration requires more than stipends, emphasizing the importance of technical and vocational empowerment in line with international standards.
By engaging leading firms such as Julius Berger and PrimeTech, the Amnesty Programme aims to expand its training scope, ensuring that participants gain hands-on experience, modern techniques, and access to professional networks that can help transform their skills into thriving businesses.
The Administrator reaffirmed PAP’s commitment to diversifying opportunities for ex-agitators beyond the Niger Delta, adding that furniture production, architecture, and engineering represent sectors with strong potential for job creation and economic growth.
