In a landmark step toward modernizing governance and boosting economic growth, the Ondo State Government has announced plans to officially adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a strategic tool for rapid socioeconomic transformation.

This initiative reflects the administration’s strong commitment to leveraging technology for sustainable development, improved governance, and a better quality of life for its citizens. The move aims to position Ondo State as a leading hub for innovation and digital advancement in Nigeria.

To actualize this vision, the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) will convene a two-day high-level policy summit where experts from government agencies, technology companies, private institutions, and academia will deliberate on integrating AI into key sectors of the state’s economy. The event will take place at ODIRS Hall, Igbatoro Road, Akure, on October 27 and 28, 2025, starting at 9 a.m. each day.

The summit is expected to produce a comprehensive policy framework to guide the use of Artificial Intelligence in governance, service delivery, and development planning across Ondo State.
