In the early hours of Sunday, 26th October, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reportedly raided Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, following intelligence about a suspected drug-related gathering.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, more than 100 individuals, including the club’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were taken into custody for screening. Babafemi added that cartons of substances, reportedly including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from the venue and its storage areas.
The NDLEA explained that operatives had been embedded at the event from 11pm on Saturday, 25th October, and disrupted the gathering at 3am on Sunday, in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The raid reflects ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to curb drug use and illegal distribution in entertainment venues across Lagos State, reinforcing its mandate to protect the public from narcotics-related activities.
