Denmark’s richest man, Anders Holch Povlsen, Chief Executive Officer of BESTSELLER and Chair of the BESTSELLER Foundation, has paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, to discuss opportunities for economic and digital collaboration between Nigeria and Denmark.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, President Tinubu welcomed the Danish delegation, which included Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Bach Hansen, Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in areas such as digital innovation, sustainable investment, renewable energy, and youth empowerment, with both parties expressing optimism about deepening bilateral relations.
Mr. Povlsen, whose foundation supports global initiatives in sustainability and entrepreneurship, commended Nigeria’s vibrant youth population and its growing role in Africa’s technology and creative sectors. He emphasized the potential for Danish businesses to partner with local innovators to build inclusive, future-ready industries.
According to government sources, the meeting aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes attracting foreign direct investment and advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation strategy.
Observers say the visit reflects the growing international confidence in Nigeria’s reform-driven economy and underscores the country’s strategic importance as an investment destination in Africa.
