Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (KAI) have successfully apprehended eight suspected phone snatchers following credible intelligence, in an operation atop the Mile 2 Bridge yesterday.
The suspects were promptly arraigned before the Mobile Court at Bolade. Four of them — Chinedu Ohaji (35), Agwu Chijioke (22), Paul Obi (38), and David Odeh (35) — pleaded guilty and were sentenced to one month imprisonment each.
The remaining four suspects — Osas Afabo (40), Prosper Chukwuejike (20), Isaac Kingsley (22), and Adeyemi Caleb (26) — pleaded not guilty, with their trial adjourned to 7 January 2026.
The Lagos State authorities reiterated their commitment to eradicating criminal activities across the metropolis, warning that law enforcement remains vigilant and that anyone involved in illegal activities will face the full force of the law.
