In a proactive move to combat human trafficking, smuggling, and the rising trend of irregular migration — popularly referred to as the “Japa Syndrome” — the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations (MoSD&IGR), organized a comprehensive sensitization programme for public servants.
Held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa-Ikeja, the programme carried the theme: “Partnership for Protection: Safeguarding Public Servants Against Trafficking and Unsafe Migration.” The initiative was executed in collaboration with relevant Federal Government agencies, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts in protecting citizens from illicit migration networks and trafficking syndicates.
The sensitization workshop aimed to educate public servants on the risks associated with human trafficking and unsafe migration, provide practical guidance on preventive measures, and strengthen partnerships between government agencies to safeguard the workforce and the general populace.
The Lagos State Government emphasized that the programme is part of a broader strategy to reduce exposure to criminal networks, enforce anti-trafficking policies, and promote awareness across all levels of public service.
