Armed bandits have launched yet another deadly assault in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting nine residents during a late-night raid on Rafin Roro village.

According to community sources, the gunmen stormed the village around Wednesday night, firing indiscriminately as residents fled for safety. The village head, Mallam Adamu Auta, narrowly escaped the onslaught, but nine members of his immediate and extended family were seized and taken into the forest.

Eyewitnesses told Stone Reporter News that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and operated for nearly an hour without any intervention from security agencies.

“They came shooting in the air and went straight to the village head’s compound,” a resident recounted. “People ran into the bushes, but they still managed to capture several members of his family.”

The attack is the latest in a string of violent incidents that have plagued southern Kaduna communities, where kidnapping and cattle rustling have become frequent and devastating. Locals say many cases go unreported due to fear of reprisal and lack of confidence in security response.

Community leaders have renewed calls for government intervention, demanding stronger security presence and coordinated intelligence operations to curb the worsening insecurity.

As of press time, neither the Kaduna State Police Command nor the State Government had issued an official statement regarding the abduction.
