Abuja—On Thursday, November 6, 2025, a group of like-minded supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) staged the “Save Our Democracy from Intimidation” protest at several key locations in the Federal Capital Territory, including the U.S. Embassy, European Union offices, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters.
The protesters called on domestic and international authorities to intervene against what they described as threats to democratic processes and political intimidation in Nigeria. Participants carried placards and banners highlighting demands for fair elections, protection of civil liberties, and accountability from security agencies.
Security was tight at all locations, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force deployed to ensure the protest remained peaceful. Organizers emphasized that the demonstration was non-violent and intended to draw attention to concerns about political harassment.
The protest comes amid rising tensions over ongoing political developments, and demonstrators appealed to the international community to monitor the situation and support democratic principles in Nigeria.
