A White House press conference led by U.S. President Donald J. Trump on Thursday, November 6, 2025, was unexpectedly interrupted when a man suddenly collapsed in the Oval Office during a live-streamed announcement focused on efforts to reduce the cost of weight loss drugs.

The incident unfolded as Eli Lilly CEO Dave Ricks was addressing the audience beside President Trump’s desk. Dr. Mehmet Oz, who currently heads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), was seen rushing forward to assist the man moments before he fell to the floor.

Eyewitnesses reported that several attendees immediately helped lower the unidentified man safely to the ground, while a White House aide quickly directed journalists and camera crews to leave the room.

Shortly afterward, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt provided an update confirming that the individual had merely fainted and was in stable condition.

“The White House Medical Unit acted immediately, and the gentleman is okay. The press conference will resume shortly,” Leavitt said.

When the briefing resumed without the man, President Trump reassured viewers that the situation was under control.

“One of the representatives got light-headed, but he’s fine. We had a little interruption—sorry for that,” Trump said, before inviting Ricks to continue his remarks.

Earlier confusion arose after Getty Images identified the man as Gordon Findlay, Novo Nordisk’s global brand director, but the pharmaceutical company later clarified that Findlay was not present at the event.

This incident comes months after another brief health scare involving Dr. Oz’s family. In April 2025, his 11-year-old granddaughter, Philomena, fainted during his swearing-in ceremony at the Oval Office while Trump delivered remarks. Her mother, Daphne Oz, later confirmed that Philomena had fully recovered and thanked well-wishers for their concern.
