Human rights activist and journalist Omoyele Sowore has raised serious allegations regarding the imprisonment of Samuel Ojeogwu, also known as “Sammy West,” claiming that the young man has been unjustly detained at Keffi Prison under the influence of Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In a public statement, Sowore asserted that Ojeogwu, the younger brother of Nwoko’s estranged wife, Regina Daniels, is a victim of what he described as a “tyrannical alliance of impunity” involving powerful political figures, law enforcement, and certain judicial officers.
Sowore condemned the alleged collusion, describing it as a continuation of lawlessness and abuse of power despite ongoing public scrutiny. He called on the Nigeria Police Force authorities to act promptly by releasing Sammy West and withdrawing the charges against him, which he labeled as baseless.
“This unholy alliance of impunity must end,” Sowore emphasized, urging the authorities to ensure justice prevails and to uphold the principles of fairness and accountability in the enforcement of the law.
The allegations, if verified, could reignite debates on political influence, police integrity, and the use of the justice system in Nigeria. As of now, neither Senator Nwoko nor the Nigeria Police Force has publicly responded to the claims.
