The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Chioma, has raised concerns over massive vote buying observed in her polling unit during the ongoing Anambra State election.
Speaking to journalists on-site, Chioma urged security agencies and election officials to take urgent action to curb the malpractice, describing it as a threat to the credibility of the electoral process. She stressed that such activities undermine voters’ confidence and called for strict enforcement of electoral rules to ensure a free and fair exercise.
Observers at the unit confirmed that security personnel were present, working to maintain order as the situation unfolded, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to monitor the polling units across the state.
Chioma’s alert adds to growing reports of vote buying in various parts of Anambra, highlighting the persistent challenge of ensuring transparency and fairness in the election.
